The Traditional Rotating Internship is structured to provide clinical experience throughout the course of training. The internship is characterized by a broad range of supervised inpatient and outpatient clinical experiences. Each trainee will be exposed to a wide variety of patients throughout their training.
Interns are assigned rotations in general internal medicine, 普通外科, 家庭医疗, 麻醉, obstetrics and gynecology (ambulatory gynecology), 急诊医学. Interns are assigned two months of elective rotations which may include dermatology, 神经学, 内分泌学, 肺, 哼哼/肿瘤学, 传染病, 肾脏学, 心脏病学, 放射学, GI, 或者外科专科.
Inpatient rotations consist of daily rounds with bedside teaching on inpatient rotations such as surgery and internal medicine.
Interns are exposed to pathology and 放射学 throughout their rotations and in didactic sessions. Anesthesiology is taught during the surgery rotation. Each intern is taught the components of airway stabilization, 相关许可, 局部麻醉的使用, 以及麻醉下病人的监控.
Osteopathic principles and practice are taught through monthly didactic instruction as well through the OPP/OMM practice in the teaching clinic.

Transitional Year residents are a vital part of our Medical 教育 community. 尽管这是一个为期一年的项目, residents have access to all resources offered in our other residency programs. Residents are encouraged to participate in research with our 皮肤病学 and Family Medicine programs and work closely with other programs to gain a broad base of knowledge.
A unique and important feature our Transitional Year residency program offers is two pre-matched positions to our 皮肤病学 program. All students interested in applying to our 皮肤病学 residency must also apply to our Transitional Year program.
